Fiachra got uncomfortable even more as Sibyl sat there frozen in position, only her lips moving as she spoke. He shifted at the mention of other fluids, what was there to investigate? It sounded awkwardly like something a dog would get when a vet examined it. He remembered his first inductions, they’d been shaved, deloused, forced into mass showers to make them acceptable for instructors.
He let out a small sigh of relief as she began to move again and reached for her cup to sip at it. He was sitting ramrod straight, afraid to move, especially when she said ‘get what I want’. His eyes did widen a little but Fiachra had learned enough over the last couple of years that he was not to speak out of turn. Emmy was one of her children?
He opened his mouth to speak but shut it just as fast when she finished the conversation. Emmy arrived in then and he couldn’t restrain a gasp at her appearance. She was pale and had bad bruises on her neck. Sibyl showed no concern, just happy she’d arrived. He couldn’t help but stare but he obediently nodded as she dismissed him, he wasn’t allowed stay any longer. “Thank you for the tea Ms. Varner” he managed, “I trust you sleep well and I shall see you in the morning. Thank you for being so kind to me” he was forced to add.
He followed Emmy, acutely aware of the marks on her neck, it was almost like something had tried to chew through her neck. As she unlocked a door for him, he stopped her as she entered. “I’m sorry…Emmy isn’t it? I-Is I mean are you ok? You seem really pale” he said worried. First time inside a vampire household, he was horrified.
Matthew listened in meek silence as Ibsen gave his run-down of the situation. Inwardly he was seething with jealousy, they were so much stronger and powerful, and not in the way those with augmentations were. Ugly looking prosthetics and forced to rely on drugs. But of course these had another need, blood. Ibsen, taller and bigger than him, he’d have probably been able to take Matt even if he was human. Your imperfections just became realized around them.
“I live to serve” he intoned as he had been taught. There was no way he would disobey an order from Harper but that thing with the blood, his stomach still curled at it. He blushed too as Ms. d’Aubigné came in, Josephine truly was stunning despite her youth. He twitched and found himself sitting up straighter as a hard-eyed Harper came in, her eyes glinting and her voice like flint when she spoke to the PA.
“I’ll take another room please” he said quickly as he was given the option. The thought of staying with Ibsen or Harper was a rough one. Or worse Sully, there was blood on the girl’s mouth and she seemed full of energy now, her eyes were sizing him up rather uncomfortably. “Thank you Ms. d’Aubigné” he said meekly, his eyes shooting nervously at Harper.
“Merveilleux,” sighed Matilda blissfully. Having taken a seat on the sofa, she crossed her ankles in a ladylike manner, resting her hands in her lap while still keeping a gigantic grin on her features. She was so very happy with marital life, it was clear. “I am pretty sure you will have a little niece or nephew before the year is out.”
Slowly jogging off downstairs, Fable appeared in a purple and blue checkered shirt and camel chinos. Having freshly shaved, he pecked his wife’s cheek and then clasped Georges’ shoulder in welcome.
“Come to show off your marital bliss?” he teased, making his way over to the kitchen to let Nana out from where they’d contained her while they had their fun. The dog immediately barked and ran over to Emmanuelle when she was let out, licking Emma’s hands before barking excitedly.
Matilda smiled at how affectionate the dog was and sighed, “I wonder if our baby will be as affectionate as Nana,” she mused, taking Georges’ hand and kissing the back of it. “They will certainly be more beautiful.”
Fable raised both eyebrows, warning, “You might be Emma’s sister now, but if you insult our baby she will slap you,” with a laugh in his tone.
Douglas didn’t really like the idea of having to cut their little holiday short, but he understand two things: the first that the only reason Sahara really wanted to go away together was because she wanted another baby, and the second that Sahara truly hadn’t seen much of her family since her original passing. As Douglas couldn’t imagine going such a long time without seeing his siblings, he couldn’t possibly imagine what Sahara was currently going through.
“Fine, why don’t we go and see Ari?” he asked, flipping his legs over the side of the bed and standing up. “With your parents gone I figure Demetrius might be a bit too busy to play host today.”
“Everyone seems to have gone out,” Arabelle sighed when they arrived home. Immediately she walked into the kitchen and began to make them both some coffee so they could drink a soothing mug while they decided what they were going to do tonight.
Once she had made the coffee she sat up on one of the stools of the breakfast bar and patted the one behinds her for Rosaline to take a seat. “So since this is your first free night away from the controlling husband, what do you want to do? It can be entirely up to you, although I do know this fantastic bar which we can check out if you don’t want to go full on clubbing.”
Marie gave Persephone a hug, kissing her cheek as she warned, “Don’t speak German to her. Ric does it often enough, and I swear he has made Vic deaf to any other language but German,” as she walked into the dining room with Persephone she added, “You’ll be fine with Nina. Just try to avoid awkward subjects.”
Within five minutes after they had all been seated in the dining room, the butler appeared in the door way to announce Nina’s arrival. Wearing a black strapless maxi with a lace Victorian collar covering her neck and shoulders, she looked every bit a lady for the first time in what felt like forever. It seemed like Godfrey had definitely had an influence over her.
“Hello,” she said meekly, standing in the doorway.
She wasn’t quite sure whether she should sit, and if so where she should sit. “Are these the only kids coming?”
Jacques took pity on his sister-in-law, and shook his head, standing up to greet her with a kiss on her cheek. “Georges and Emma should be coming along with their partners, but I think Belle and Ellie are staying home, as are Doug and Sara.”
“I’ll meet you there,” Remus said, “I need to drop Abbi home first.”
Taking her hand, he disappeared with his fiancée back to their home, getting her a cup of tea while he explained, “It is safer you remain here, okay?” knowing that she would try to bargain her coming, “When demons get angry.. well, you’ve seen what Rainia did. It is just better for you if you remain here with Romulus. If he asks tell him that I will explain everything later - do not tell him that we went to see Naberius, okay?”
He kissed her cheek then and disappeared to Sebastian’s palace.
He walked off to the study, knocking on the door before entering with a smile to his present family.
“Hey, are these my new Uncle and Aunt?” he chuckled, looking down at Nicholas and Anastasia. “They’re sweet.”
“Thank you, Remus,” Adora smiled, walking over to her grandson and cuddling him close. “Oh, you look out of sorts, love. What’s wrong?”
Chewing on his lip, Remus shook his head, “Just wait, when Naberius arrives he’s going to explain everything..”
Hyacinth shook her head, not understanding why everyone else couldn’t see this. Were they all blind?! She decided to leave it for now though, just letting them worry about her and Atticus instead of Belle and Atticus.
“It don’t know, he is surely better than some other men I could have ended up engaged to,” she sighed, resting her head on Lile’s shoulder. “I just want to make sure that he is going with all of this. He didn’t seem very happy and I don’t want to cause any problems in your family..”
“It is down to her family who she marries,” Paimon said simply, “and I have cleared it with Hume. He was reluctant at first but you and Hyacinth are friends, and he is happier for her to marry you than some other boy who she doesn’t know and therefore cannot be trusted with her.”
He settled his hands on the table, adding then though, “But I have discussed this with your mother, and quite clearly she has your best interests at heart and so we have come to the decision that as long as you can prove that you are responsible before the wedding in nine months, then we can call it off in a heartbeat.”
Arlen obediently sat, scratching his head as he tried to calm down. He waited silently as she spoke before saying, “Mum wants her to be named after her, so Esmerelda will have to be incorporated into the name,” he said, giving no indication as to why his mother was not present. Esmerelda Leith had always been a bit of a snobby women; believing herself above the caring of children when they could be cared for by hired staff, as such Arlen was already sure that his mother would not be at all helpful during his difficulties. His father however was currently seeing to Chelsea’s body and the funeral plans.
As Arlen tried to think of what to call his daughter, he realised that he didn’t really want her to grow up the same way he had. With parents who didn’t love each other, and nurses who raised him while his father - who was a lovely man - worked on his studies of humans, and his mother held party after party. No, he wanted her to have a proper family like Antje had; Betty had done well enough only being raised by her father, and he hoped he could do right by his daughter in such a way.
“How about Garnet?” he thus asked, “After the last High Elemental Queen? She is your ancestor after all, and considering you’re giving us such aid, I figure I should show my thanks to your family in some way..”
As he looked at his daughter, he became more sure that Garnet was the correct name for her. The High Queen Garnet had been born of an Ondine father and Salamander mother, and for some reason that brought Arlen solace. “Garnet Esmerelda of the Ondine House of Leith.”
Liam had no idea how well he was being played. For Helena it was easy, allow him his ten minutes of fumbling at her, some quick sex and he’d be sated and back to worship. A small price to pay and he was reasonably attractive to her, it wasn’t much of a chore.
He listened to her hasty instructions, Helena tearing at his pants to get the down. She was encouraging him to go for her, “I will, I am!” he responded, nevermind he’d been used frequently in the last couple of days, this was his first lover. He forced his underwear down and mounted her.
It was nothing special. Liam rode her hard but it was nothing to compared with how Marianne had done it to him. Helena didn’t seem to baulk much at all. He came and was happy to slump next to her, one hand idly fondling her breast as he kissed her neck. Her lack of reaction had been disconcerting. “You don’t seem pleased dominae” he said with a hint of worry behind a nervous laugh.
Aoife was just heavy. Not her fault with a healthy figure and her height, it stood to reason. But it did mean Merek was fairly certain that even if she had been human, a fight would have been fairly even odds. He did find her amazingly attractive though. “Well I always feel safe with you” he admitted, a bit embarrassed. Aoife was one of the few spouses who it was easier to be held by than to hold. “I think you complain about your height, but you like it” he suggested, “You’d not be happy if I was your height and you mine.”
Aoife led the way and as he worked his way down, she was there protectively to watch him in case he fell. He gave her a quick kiss before taking her hand and having a look around the room. Like before he laced their fingers, she seemed to enjoy it.
He laughed a bit awkwardly. “We’re trying to find a good spot where you can fuck my brains out in my daughter’s room and we’re looking on the floor” he was blushing now a little. “Well something with a soft surface anyways, would a bean bag or carpet work? I’d like a blanket for afterwards” he told her. As they walked, he let go her hand and instead hooked it under the waistband of her pants so it rested on her rear. A quick squeeze and he was content to leave it there. “Well Amazon Aoife, what do you think?”
Aodh wasn’t sure whether to be reassured or not by that fact. Ashe saw him as not even enough to sate him as a snack. Her humorous tone made him feel a bit uneasy and it was becoming clear she was teasing him. “Thank you Great Ashe” he managed to squeak.
Her smile turned sly and he dropped his gaze for the moment, she wasn’t giving him any details at all. He was panicky to know she had some plan it seemed but he was being kept in the dark on it. “But along the way whe-” he was beginning to say annoyed but cut off extremely quickly. Instead he watched in fascination as her huge hands cupped again to bring water to her lips. He moved as drops slipped between her fingers to hit near him.
That smooth smile again as he questioned did she wish anything. “Yes Great Ashe” he intoned, that irritating diminutive being used again to describe him. Depressingly it was true compared to her. He kept silent in the shade, awaiting her pleasure, he didn’t dare turn his back on her.
Helena had her blouse off in a flash and then she lay back, easily pulling him down with her. She went back to kissing him, her nimble fingers easily undoing his shirt. Helena seemed eager and he reciprocated, trying to keep up with her, feeling her smile against him. She shucked off his shirt for him and then hitched up her skirt. It was a quickie, they’d have to stay half dressed. He had one hand move to her underwear, teasing at the waistband and tugging at it, her cold skin was a sharp cry from the virgin he had been with before. He was struggling to get his own pants down as well, she had him hard already and she’d only been kissing and fondling him. “I need you” he growled, thrusting at her though his pants and her underwear were still on. It was strange, he was on top, Helena was happy to lie on her back and accept it.
